One round win under our belts! But one thing is for sure there is a lot of rodeo left. I want to apologize before you watch this video, my wife has a tendency to say "bleep" whenever I make a mistake so please turn your volume down when watching this video :) Chuck has been letting me get it on them in the same spot every day. The only difference is, is that in this round I got my slack and was able to turn the calf around so he was standing there when I got to him. I had to gather twice which is where the bleep came in but was still able to put one wrap on and call it good. Adam Gray had this calf in the first round and did get a very go
Had a little bad luck last night. Still in it so no problem there. I just kind of put myself in a speed trap. If I would have taken a little bit more time to help that calf up and flank him square I would not have mis strung. And I still would have been at least a long 7 or short 8. Perfs at 1pm this afternoon. I am all over this one!
This second set of calves was very uneven. My calf didn't seem like she left very hard and she just wasn't really going anywhere for the run to be very snappy. I was off the start a little bit but that is better than breaking out. She took a tie and we finished it up in 7.9 good enough for 4th. I believe I am sitting 3rd in the average behind Cold Ohl and Tyson Durfey. 8 more rounds!
Tonight we roped the big set of calves. I came in sitting 11th so I was the 5th roper out. Chuck was a little excited in the box and wanted to squat a little bit. After I reset him he was good to go and I got a perfect start. It wasn't the ideal go but we cleaned it up and put a wrap and a hooey on. 9 more!!!
If I ever pick up another hobby I think it should probably be snowmobiling! Did you see this trailer???
Well so far so good. Ended up 2nd both rounds at Waco. So I advanced onto finals. I think Justin Maass, Jerome Shneeburger and Cimmaron Boardman also advanced. We then went to a roping in Sulphur, LA put on by Shane Hanchey. No luck broke out on my 2nd one to be high call. Oh well. Headed back to Hillsboro, TX to practice for a couple of days before I head back to Waco.
One thing is for sure you can't beat yourself at these little ropings.
Welcome to my website. I will be happy to answer any questions or discuss any issues you may have. We will be tenatively planning some roping schools in the future so please let me know if you would be at all insterested and different times of year that may work better than others.
Looks like we have the Finals made! Over the next couple of months I will be working and training myself and horses to be in top condition come December 1st!
