http://bcove.me/54gnxhkx Well did what we could. I can't blame Chuck. He is still so young. 10 days is hard on a lot of horses. But it was good enough to win the average and end up 2nd in the world. I couldn't be happier! Had a great calf. Chuck did not work he stopped and that was about it. Things happened unexpectedly last night and I am now 1st in the Average. One more! Almost done. I started a heck of a run. Calf would have been fine I should have been 7 my little horse has been rubbing the rope so tonight we are switching a few things up. If Chuck has that calf's head we are 7 all day.
Round seven. Slower calf. I scored accordingly. I felt like I started the run I needed to win, but the calf fell down. Middle (most uneven) pen of calves are up tomorrow. 3 more. Well we were 8.5 tonight ended up 5th. I have no problem taking $4800 for a not so perfect run. My lil horse is still taking a bit to get him settled in the corner but once he's ready it on! I roped really sharp around the neck and got a good go at him. When I went to gather the legs I missed the back legs and had to regather costing me at least half a second. So the run was far from perfect. This pen really is kind of phony. I have been lucky enough to stay on the good end of the draw which has been nice for a change. Four more times!!!
Monday night I had Tyson Durfey's calf from round 2 and he tied her in a 7.5 or 7.6 so she definitely had a track record. I had a little trouble getting Chuck settled in the corner. But I knew that if he isn't perfect there is a high percentage chance that I will probably break out. So I took my time and got him set. As soon as I did he fired and I roped her exactly where I have roped every other calf. Got my slack and thank goodness my loop came off her tail. She took a tie great!
